Badly drawn boys

Five games into the league and the 1st and 2nd XIs have eight draws between them. On the plus side they also have just one defeat (the 1sts being unbeaten and yet bottom of the league, strangely). Of course, this could be considered 'building a platform'...

Meanwhile the 3rd XI have won four out of five and the 4th XI have lost four out of five. Like a hand-cuffed Tony Hart they just can't draw.

This weekend the 1st XI face Birkbeck College (currently in the top 3), the 2nd XI have an empty diary but will no doubt salvage a draw, the 3rd XI come up against promotion heavyweight and one-man team - India's Jim Kana*, and the 4th XI cross swords with last season's relegated 3rd's fodder, Edmonton 5ths.

Come on CECC - let's have some proper points this time.
