Wet, wet, wet and two slaps in the face
All three Saturday league games were rained off at various stages. The 1st XI didn't make it to the starting line, the 2nd XI got 100 or so runs and then had tea before going home and the 3rd XI played an innings and a half and had a stand-up row with the opposition (presumably to fill in the time). So one point a piece at a crucial stage of the season. Here's hoping the other games were rained off too.
On Sunday, the league team won convincingly against a strong Hertford side and are now a win away from a second consecutive promotion. The friendly XI beat a weak London Marshes side with 80 from Stu and a freakish double retirement within the space of 6 balls from top-edges - James and Khalid bloodied but un-bowed.
