1st v Old Lyonians

A severely weakened batting line up meant that temporary skipper JJ would have to assume more responsibility in all departments, a prospect he seemed to relish.

 

At 46-5, J was joined by late call up Wasif who grafted against some testing bowling.  They put together the key partneship which brought us up to 100.  From there the tail wagged and ran the tattered Lyons ragged.  We squeezed up to 143 a/o with JJ the last man out for a fantastic 69, his only support…

A low target, a tight chase and a big crowd.  10 points and Vodka Redbulls all round.

 

At 30-4, the Tamils sensibly, un Tamil-like, rebuilt their innings.  Only for it to be blown away from an all round solid bowling and fielding performance.

After beating a poor Old A's two weeks ago, I was informed by the oppo that next time would be different.  They were right, they were worse.

A lot can happen in two weeks, you can work on your sledging, perfect your dead bat block and with both of these finely honed put in another crap performance against Crouch End.
