Phil Nagler writes....4ths v Hornsey 5 6th August 2016

COME ON YOU HORNS(ey)

After a couple of good victories, the 4ths were in confident mood going into their home clash with local rivals Hornsey.
We had a good side on paper...sadly the game is played on grass and we were shot out for 84...mentions must go to Simon who batted heroically/stoically/painstakingly/grimly for his 19 and Shiva who looked in good nick before holing out for 18...Robin and KC bowled well for the oppo but no one cares about that do they? In fact KC and the other band of Hornsey bowlers did very well in the sunshine...5 points if you can spot the musical group from the 80s I've just mentioned.
In reply, FB bowled his usual good lines and Julian was tidy but we were never in the hunt and ultimately lost by 8 wickets in 25 overs.

Highlight of the day came at tea when Skipper Smith found the pasta too hot and looked like he might spontaneously combust.

I'm off for the football season on Saturdays now....I prefer Deeney and Ighalo to Gemmill and Dindyal....
